FUNGKi
FUNGKi loves two things more than anything else in life: music and mushrooms. Exploring melodies, beats and vibes and searching for spores take up most of the artist’s time but it wasn’t always the case. When FUNGKi started writing music he was focused on being the traditional canon of Western classical music until his first forage in the Oregon wilderness led him to discover the magic of finding and eating different mushrooms.
After one such forage and accompanying dinner FUNGKi heard music different and expanded his musical palette searching for the perfect sonic texture to vibe to. His vibe and frequency became attracted to smokey beats, dusty jazz and spliffed out lofi. Currently FUNGKi maintains a studio near the forrest and can be found making mushroom tea and finger tapping beats and chords, looking to perfect the perfect soundtrack for a spaced out journey.
After a forage near Eureka, California FUNGKi holed up in a remote studio to craft these two recordings. His goal was to impress upon the listener the feelings of being surrounded by massive redwood trees and feeling comfort in man’s smallness in the universe.
